How to Interpret Our Ratings
|
Rating |
Explanation |
| 90+ |
A book
with tremendous insights, important new material, or an invaluable
collection of information that will be of lasting value to the book's
audience. The writing is also outstanding. |
| 86-89 |
A book
with important insights or new material, or that brings together
important information. The writing is also above average. |
| 82-85 |
A book
that contains interesting information, but breaks no new ground and is
not presented attractively. It may be that the book does have some
important insights or information, but is poorly written or presented. |
| 75-81 |
A book
with some good information, but that is flawed in one or more ways that
make it difficult to see past the mistakes. |
| 50-74 |
A poor
book that, while it may contain one or two useful nuggets of
information, is worth neither your time nor your money. |
| 0-50 |
A book
that is, for lack of a better phrasing, just plain bad. Such books may
suffer from glittering generalities or horrible production values, but
in general books in this category should be avoided at all costs. |
